A Day at the Lake
We spent the afternoon at Trout Lake today. Trout Lake is just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and is ideal for hiking and horseback riding.
Our vet told us that swimming was one of the best ways to help Luke recover from his surgery. We were careful not to over do it. We played fetch the tennis ball, and let Luke get some time in the water. He's clearly not at all afraid of the water, perhaps as a result of his breeding and from his younger years.
One thing I've noticed. It's hard for someone to walk by without petting a Golden. They just give off this vibe that says "please pet me and love on me!"
It was a glorious day that I will not soon forget. Praise God for giving us dogs as companions.
